The Magic Torch Sport Kit requires
no replacement batteries - ever! Included is a brilliant wind up torch and a rear light
that can be connected to the torch.
Simply winding the integrated handle operates a patented
three phase generator which charges the unit’s internal Nickel Metal Hydride
storage cell.
For maximum flexibility and longevity, the torch gives you a choice of three light modes - ON 5 x LED, ON LED blinking / ON 1 x LED, to extend operating time.
Just one minute of winding provides 25 minutes of 5 x LED super bright
torchlight - on full capacity the torch can shine for up to 24 hours with 1
x LED.
Extra functionality includes a built in clock/calendar/stop-watch with backlit illumination, and a belt clip
for convenient portability.
The Magic Torch Cycle Kit also
converts into a handy energy free cycle lamp set including a rear lamp.
In our review of the cycle kit, we did find it a bit bulky compared to smaller battery operated bike lamps, so it's probably best suited to be used primarily as a torch, and as a 'back up' bike light.
A
simple bracket fits most common handlebar sizes. The rear lamp connects to the
main torch via a lead for recharging its own internal lithium battery.
Just one
minute of winding will provide around 20 minutes of full power light from
either front or rear set, or over 40 minutes use in blinking mode.
Additional
winding will extend these operating times, and unlike conventional
generator lamps does not cause any increase in cycle effort or turn off when
the bike is stationary.
Additionally, in an emergency, the Magic Torch Cycle Kit can also be used to recharge many popular mobile phones so that one
minute of winding can provide up to two minutes of talk time.
