Eliminating wasteful standby power used by your home entertainment system is now as easy as using your TV remote. In fact this device can use your TV remote to do it!
Switched Off or Standby?
Most televisions, stereos, VCR’s and other appliances that work with a remote never really turn off when the "off" button is pushed; they remain in a standby mode. That’s why they are able to turn back on again with the remote. If there is a glowing LED (light-emitting diode) on the TV, DVD, Video, Stereo or other appliance after they are switched off, they is still power being drawn, and costs being added to your electricity bill.
The IR (infrared light) Sensor built into this Power Board, when coupled with the TV (or primary) remote controller, automatically switches off all components of the home
entertainment system connected to the 'auto switch' outlets of the Power Board when the television remote controller is turned off.
Each Energy Saving
Power Board has 6 outlet connections, 5 auto switch and 1 constant
power (not auto switched). The constant power outlet is used for a device that always needs to be on like a VCR or Foxtel IQ which needs to be on standby to record future programs etc.
By automatically switching off connected home entertainment system components the IR Controlled Power Board eliminates wasteful standby power, reducing energy consumption, electricity bills and greenhouse gas emissions while protecting the connected equipment against power surge.
